Other Certificates (Certificate of Change of Land Name)

If there is a change in the name and lot number of Machikai-cho due to land readjustment projects, administrative district reorganization, house display maintenance projects, etc., many of the public books provided at public offices will be automatically rewritten based on laws and regulations. However, there are some things that cannot be rewritten without an application from the person. The main reason for this is:

  • Registration of change of ownership of real estate ownership
  • Registration of change of corporate location and representative of Address
  • Changes in vehicle inspection certificate
  • Change of information on driver's license (resident certificate, insurance card is also acceptable)
  • Change of licenses and permits in Address

However, a "Land Name Change Certificate" is required for this procedure.

You can apply by mail to the Sakae Ward Office only if the Address is in Sakae Ward. We cannot apply for "name change certificate of land" of other cities in the city by mail. Please contact the ward office in charge of the Address before requesting.

1 Method of application by mail

(1) Application Form
   Please download it from the Civic Affairs Bureau website.
(2) Fees and reply envelopes
   Please enclose a reply envelope with a stamp along with the application form (don't forget your own Address).
   The fee is free. Please refrain from applying by fax.

2 Notes

  • Transfer to the city area before the enforcement of the ward administration will be handled by the Yokohama City Hall Civic Affairs Bureau Ward Liaison and Coordination Division, so it may take some time.
  • Depending on the content of the application, it may not be possible to issue a "Land Name Change Certificate".
