Q I received a notification regarding the National Health Insurance premium even though I am enrolled in employee health insurance (Social Insurance) where I work.

Have you completed the procedure to stop National Health Insurance (disqualification)?
If you have not completed the procedure, please stop National Health Insurance at the counter or mail (disqualification) procedure.

・New Health Insurance Card

Q The expiration date of the insurance card is until the end of July 2023. When will the new insurance card arrive?

A

By the end of July, when the expiration date is reached, mail will be sent by registered mail to the head of household.
If you do not receive it after the expiration date is approaching, the insurance card may have been returned to the ward office for reasons such as the expiration date of the post office, so please contact Aoba Ward National Health Insurance Section directly.

A

You can apply for a reissue of your National Health Insurance insurance card at the counter or by mail.

Q The head of household does not take out National Health Insurance, but why did you receive a notice of premium determination (or a notice of premium determination)?

A

If there is a National Health Insurance member in the household, a notice will be sent to the head of the household.
The National Health Insurance calculates insurance premiums on a household basis, and it is stipulated by law that the head of the household is obliged to pay them.

For details on who insurance premiums in the household, please refer to the insured person's name column in 5 “Basic Insurance Premium Calculation” in the insurance premium determination notice (or insurance premium determination notice).

Q I would like you to explain how to calculate insurance premiums.

A

The National Health Insurance premium is determined according to the income of the previous year (in the case of 2023, one year from January to December 2022) and the "per capita rate" to be paid by each insured person. It is determined by the sum of the amount.

Q Insurance premiums are higher than last year even though income has not changed. Why?

A

Since both the income rate and the per capita rate have increased from last year, insurance premiums have increased accordingly.
In addition, the following reasons are the main reasons for the increase in insurance premiums.
・The number of members of the National Health Insurance in the household has increased.
・Due to a change in the number of households, etc., the reduced amount of insurance premiums has been changed.
・In terms of operating income, etc., the income did not change, but the amount of income increased due to a decrease in expenses to deduct.
・Having reached the age of 40 has resulted in a new amount of nursing care provided by the National Health Insurance.
・Insurance premiums are not calculated correctly because income has not been declared. (If there is a declaration, the income is subject to insurance premium reduction, but because it has not been declared, it is not eligible for insurance premium reduction and insurance premium has increased from last year.)

Q Insurance premiums are not calculated correctly because there is no income in the previous year and undeclared. How is it calculated correctly?

A

In this case, by submitting a “National Health Insurance Income Statement” to Aoba Ward National Health Insurance Section, the National Health Insurance premium will be calculated correctly.
You can fill out the “National Health Insurance Income Statement” at the counter or mail it to your home if you can contact us by e-mail, fax or telephone.

Q Is there a discount on insurance premiums by paying all for the entire term?

A

There is no discount.

About premium rate of 2023 insurance premiums
The required information will be the age of the member and the income information of the previous year, etc. Please prepare the final tax return documents and withholding slips before making a trial calculation.
