Consultation on drinking water

Last updated on July 25, 2024.

The story of tank water

Drinking water from buildings and condominiums is once stored in a water tank called a "water receiving tank" and then supplied to your home faucet. The management of water through the receiving tank must be performed at the responsibility of the owner of the building or the person who lives. Failure to manage this can make drinking water dirty and lead to unexpected accidents. In order to drink safe water, try to manage the aquarium.

1 Principles of Management

Let's try for proper management to drink water at any time with peace of mind.

  1. Clean the aquarium once a year
Receiving tanks and elevated tanks must be cleaned regularly once a year. Always keep it clean.
  2. Regular inspections and maintenance
Check regularly for holes and cracks in the aquarium. Let's clean the area around the aquarium clean.
  3. Check the water every day
If there is any abnormality in the water color, turbidity, smell or taste, contact Environmental Sanitation Section immediately.

2. When drinking water is contaminated

In the unlikely event that drinking water is contaminated, take the following measures immediately:

  • Stop water supply and notify users immediately and contact Environmental Sanitation Section.
  • Follow Environmental Sanitation Section's guidance to remove the causes of water contamination, clean water tanks, and resume water supply.
  • While water supply is stopped, use a faucet directly connected to the water supply to secure drinking water.

3 In the event of a disaster, etc.

If there is a situation that may affect the water quality, such as an earthquake or heavy rain, check the tank. If there is any abnormality, please repair it immediately.

(Note) About well water

Well water can be contaminated with a variety of substances. We recommend that you use it for purposes other than drinking.
