- When serving food at festivals and events such as cultural festival
To start a food-related business, you may need a business license under the Food Sanitation Law. When applying for a new application or changing facilities, please bring your drawings etc. in advance and consult us.
Information on the practical training course for food hygiene managers held by Asahi Ward Health and Welfare Center in fiscal 2024.
Please note that this class is not the training class for the food hygiene person in charge taking a qualification newly.
There is also a practical training course (paid) held by the Yokohama Food Sanitation Association at the end of the fiscal year.

2024 Food Sanitation Officer Practical Seminar
It is a workshop for those who work as food hygiene managers at city food handling facilities.
Date and time: ①Friday, September 27 2 Thursday, October 17 3 Tuesday, October 29
From 14:00 to 15:30 each time (reception starts 30 minutes before)
Location: Conference Room on the 3rd floor of the ward office
Target: Food Sanitation Officer (20 people each time, first-come, first-served basis)
Belongings: Food Sanitation Officer's card (vote), writing utensils

To obtain the qualification of a food hygiene manager
Training courses for newly qualified food hygiene managers are organized by the Yokohama Food Sanitation Association. Please refer to association of Yokohama-shi food hygiene directly for inquiry or application.

If you want to provide food in a short period of time at festivals, corporate festivals, school festivals, bazaars, etc. held by residents' organizations such as Neighborhood Associations and shopping streets, please submit a “Notification of Events”.
Please consult with Food Sanitation Section as soon as possible with information on the menu, cooking place, suppliers of raw materials, and drawings of the place of delivery.
(1) About eligible events
[Contents of events]
- Athletic meet and summer festival organized by residents' organizations such as Neighborhood Associations, Neighborhood Association and shopping streets
- Citizen's festival sponsored or co-sponsored by Yokohama City
- fair festivals such as shrines and temples
- Agricultural festivals and industrial festivals organized by various organizations such as agricultural cooperatives and fishery cooperatives
- Various events held by welfare organizations
- Corporate festivals held by companies for local residents, etc. (*excluding business activities)
- School festivals, athletic meet, bazaars hosted by schools (including nursery schools and kindergartens)

The same organizer or the same event must be held up to about five times a year. In addition, the number of days held per event must be 5 days or less.

It must be held in and around the activity area of the residents' organization that hosts the event.

- Layout of store openings (The layout of major equipment such as hand washing is indicated on the floor plan of the venue)
- Map near the location (fill in information targets, etc.)
- Documents that can provide an overview of flyers, pamphlets, implementation plans, etc.

[Three Principles for Preventing Food Poisoning at Festivals]
- Don't put it on: Wash hands thoroughly and use disposable gloves and tongs for serving.
- Don't increase: Cook on the day, eat immediately, do not leave it at room temperature for a long time.
- I'll kill you: Heat up to the center
Be sure to eat the food you serve at the festival on the spot. The principle is to "eat and drink on the spot" food that has been heated just before the site.
