“Start application for registration of a Japanese JP domain name using the name of a nursery school, etc.” (site of Japan Registry Service Co., Ltd.) (external site)
・The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications announced that Japan Registry Service*, which registers and manages JP domain names, will start accepting registration applications for Japanese JP domain names using names such as nursery schools and kindergartens from October 2017. For more information, please visit the website of the Japan Registry Service Co.
Note * Japan Registry Service Co., Ltd.: The only business operator that registers and manages JP domain names (".jp"). In light of its public nature, the administrative operations of “.jp” are defined as telecommunication services under the Telecommunications Business Act.

Facilities and businesses that are subject to public expenditures planned under the new system are as follows.

In order for facilities and businesses to be positioned as “specific education and childcare facilities” or “specific regional childcare businesses” that are eligible for public expenditures under the new system, “authorization” of facilities and businesses based on the Child Welfare Law, etc. It is necessary to receive both "confirmation" (Articles 31 and 43 (outside site) of the Child and Child Care Support Act) by the Child and Child Care Support Act.
Standards and procedures for "authorization" and "confirmation" are currently undecided. Based on the standards indicated by the government as a Cabinet Order or ministerial ordinance, Yokohama City will determine it as ordinances and rules. The status of the study will be announced on this page as needed.
In addition, it is stipulated that kindergartens and licensed daycare centers that exist at the time the new system is enforced will be deemed to have been confirmed. （Articles 7 and 8 of the Supplementary Provisions of the Child and Child Care Support Act (outside site)）
