About fire prevention object inspection report
To the owner of the right to manage fire protection objects for which inspection reports are mandatory
Objects that require fire prevention object inspection report
1 Specified fire prevention objects (excluding 2)
- Capacity of 300 or more
- A capacity of 30 or more and less than 300 people, a specific use is on a floor other than the evacuation floor (excluding the first and second floors), and one stairs from the floor (excluding stairs installed outdoors) .)
2 Fire protection objects with parts provided for "social welfare facilities where many people who cannot evacuate on their own enter"
- Capacity of 300 or more
- A capacity of 10 or more and less than 300 people, a specific use is on a floor other than the evacuation floor (excluding the first and second floors), and one stairs from the floor (excluding stairs installed outdoors) .)
- Specific uses include theaters, amusement arcades, restaurants, department stores, hotels, hospitals, etc.
- Specified fire prevention objects are parts that are used for specific purposes and are used by unspecified large numbers of people.
- The evacuation floor is a floor with an entrance directly connected to the ground.

Overview
Following the fire of a building in Kabuki-cho, Shinjuku-ku, where 44 people died, a part of the Fire Services Act was revised and the "Fire Protection Object Inspection Report System" was established (enforced on October 1, 2003). .
Until now, only inspections of fire-fighting equipment installed in buildings were subject to report, but with this revision, certain qualified persons will also check the status of fire prevention management once a year. And report to the fire chief. By checking the management status of evacuation route and the implementation of training, the risk of fire is eliminated and the safety of human lives is ensured.
About fire prevention reference point verification
If the fire prevention object for which the inspection report was conducted conforms to the inspection standards, a "fire prevention control point verification" can be attached.
However, due to a partial revision of the Fire Services Act (enforced on June 1, 2009), fire prevention objects subject to both fire prevention object inspection and disaster prevention management inspection are subject to both fire prevention object inspection standards and disaster prevention management inspection standards. You can attach a “Fire and Disaster Prevention Standards Inspection Certificate” only if it conforms to the above. Only "fire prevention standard inspection certificate" or "disaster prevention standard inspection certificate" cannot be attached.

About special authorization
The owner of the right to manage fire protection objects that have been in compliance with the Fire Services Act for more than three years since the start of management, applies to the fire department and receives special approval, and will report inspections for the next three years. Obligations are exempt.
In addition, a "fire prevention excellent certificate" can be attached.
However, due to a partial revision of the Fire Services Act (enforced on June 1, 2009), for fire prevention objects that are subject to both fire prevention object inspection and disaster prevention management inspection, both fire prevention object inspection and disaster prevention management inspection You can attach a "Fire and Disaster Prevention Excellence Certificate" only if you receive a special certification. Only the "Fire Prevention Excellence Certificate" and the "Disaster Prevention Excellence Certificate" cannot be attached.

About inspection contents
The fire department inspects whether the following requirements are met (the following requirements are some of them):
- More than 3 years have passed since the management was started.
- Have not neglected the inspection report based on the fire prevention object inspection result report within the past three years.
- Within the past three years, there must be no nonconformity with the inspection standards based on the report of fire prevention object inspection results.
- Have not received an order for violating the Fire Service Law within the past three years.
- Appointment of fire prevention manager and notification of preparation of firefighting plan have been made.
- Conduct fire drills and evacuation drill at least twice a year and notify the fire department in advance.
- Inspection reports for fire-fighting equipment, etc. must be made.
