Water supply area and usage status

Industrial water supply is supplied to Tsurumi Ward, Kanagawa Ward, Nishi Ward, Naka Ward, Hodogaya Ward, Asahi Ward, Isogo Ward, Totsuka Ward and Sakae Ward in the city area with industrial water supply facilities.

Yokohama City currently provides industrial water to approximately 60 factories, mainly as essential water for industrial activities such as factories.
Looking at the usage status (contracted water volume) in the main industries, the largest oil product manufacturing industry is followed by chemical industry, food and beverage manufacturing industry, steel industry, etc. It is used in cooling water, boiler water, product processing water, cleaning water, etc.
In addition to these industrial applications, we also supply miscellaneous water used for cleaning, scenic views, toilets, watering, etc. of animal houses.

Industrial water is intended to be used for industrial use, but if there is enough water supply capacity, a certain amount can be supplied to non-industrial use, and public facilities and industries can be healthy. Water can be supplied to facilities that meet certain requirements, such as facilities that contribute to development.
In March 1999, Yokohama City began supplying miscellaneous water in line with the opening of the Yokohama Zoo ZOORASIA. Currently, industrial water is used not only for zoos but also for washing and toilet water.
