In 2010, Japan APEC Yokohama ended its entire eight-day schedule on November 14.
We caused inconvenience and burden on the lives and business activities of citizens and businesses, but thanks to everyone's understanding and cooperation, we were able to successfully close APEC Yokohama.
In addition, during this period, we were able to entertain the people involved in the conference in various ways and appeal the appeal of Yokohama to the world.

2010 APEC Summit
Yokohama has been selected as the venue for the APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) Summit to be held in 2010, the year following the 150th anniversary of the opening of the port. This is the second time that APEC has been held in Japan since Osaka in 1995. It is one of the largest international conferences in the world, with 7,500 to 8,000 participants visiting during the week.
The realization of the APEC Summit will be a major international conference following the 4th African Development Conference, further enhancing Yokohama's position as an international convention city, and will be an important first step toward the next 50 years after the 150th anniversary of the opening of the port.
What is APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation)?
A forum in which all major countries and regions in the region participate in the sustainable development of the Asia-Pacific region. Inaugurated at the first Ministerial Meeting in November 1989, a summit meeting has been held every year since 1993. Our main activities are liberalization and facilitation of trade and investment in the region and economic and technical cooperation. Since the terrorist attacks in 2001, counterterrorism measures have become a major issue. It consists of 21 countries and regions, with economic scale accounting for about 60% of the world's gross domestic product (GDP) and about 40% of the population. It has been decided that the 2010 Leaders and Ministerial Conference will be held in Japan.
