Yokohama City and Tokyo Gas concluded a partnership agreement for verification testing of methanation

Yokohama City and Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd. have concluded a cooperation agreement and will start a verification test of methanation at Tokyo Gas Yokohama Techno Station in Suehiro-cho, Tsurumi-ku. Methanation is a technology that generates methane (CH4), which is the main component of city gas, through the reaction of carbon dioxide (CO2) and hydrogen (H2). We will supply biomass-derived resources (CO2, etc.) from the adjacent Motoichi Sewerage Center and waste incineration plant to support the development of technology that contributes to decarbonization.
