Start of CO2 collection from waste gas from waste incineration plants and demonstration of use for methanation-CCU joint demonstration through regional collaboration between Yokohama City, Tokyo Gas, and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Group

Yokohama City, Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd., Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Environment and Chemical Engineering Co., Ltd. will launch the first CCU joint demonstration project in Japan, in Suehiro-cho, Tsurumi-ku, Yokohama by transporting CO2 separated and collected from exhaust gas from the waste incineration plant to Tokyo Gas's methanation demonstration facility and using it as a raw material for methanation.
Through demonstrations through regional cooperation, we will work to improve and expand the use of CCU technology, and to commercialize e-methane (e-methane).
