[Unified Local Elections]
Elections of local governments are held in a “unified local election” with a unified election date nationwide.
However, when the prefectural governor or the mayor resigns without waiting for his term, it may be performed alone. The Yokohama Mayoral Election is one of the examples that are being held alone.
