Role of Rivers
Izumi Ward is a garden city surrounded by water, with the Sakaigawa River flowing on the west side, the Akuwa River flowing on the east side, the Izumi River running north-south through the ward, and the Udagawa River and countless waterways. The river has the following role.
It is used for agricultural water and industrial water using the flow of the river, and for drinking water, hydropower and transportation in large rivers.
Another major role of the river is the natural environment conservation.
First, the space of the river stimulates the flow of air, and the plants along the river create shades of trees, purify the air, and moisturize our lives.
Secondly, the nature of the river purifies water by living organisms, forms a food chain of living organisms, making it the best place for children's education.
Thirdly, it can be used to prevent the spread of fire in the event of a disaster, as well as for fire prevention water and domestic water in the event of a disaster.
Fourth, when river water evaporates heat from the surface, it helps prevent global warming.
