Kanazawa Ward Office Public Relations Character Botan-chan
Last updated on November 2, 2018.
On October 18, 1993, Kanazawa residents voted for postcards, "Botan" as the flower of the ward and "yamazakura (wild cherry tree)" as the tree of the ward.
Botan-chan was born from this Kanazawa Ward flower "Botan".
The place name "Diki", which is now located in the Kanazawa Ward Office and police department, is named after the mud turtle Nitta, which was formed by the sea. In addition, the mud turtle was named after the name of "Nagashima mud turtle" (Diki Nagashima) who made this Nitta. Nagashima Mudgame had a house on Nojima, planted a lot of peony in the garden, and was called "Mud Turtle Botan" and delighted the eyes of the townspeople. From that time on, the peony was a familiar flower for the townspeople.
