Brain docks and forgetful docks
The Stroke and Neurospinal Center, as a specialized hospital for cerebrovascular disease, is engaged in early treatment and consistent rehabilitation, and is committed to promptly recovering patients' function and returning to society. Furthermore, based on that knowledge and achievements, we detect in advance the initial symptoms of lesions and dementia that lead to cerebrovascular disease, and conduct brain docks and forgetful docks that provide guidance on how to deal with them.
The brain dock at our center focuses on the latest diagnostic imaging such as high-performance MRI and MRA (brain and cerebrovascular test equipment using magnetism), and also performs blood and urine tests, electrocardiograms, ultrasound, etc.
MRI and MRA can detect small cerebral infarction without symptoms, cerebrovascular stenosis and obstruction that may cause major cerebral infarction in the future, cerebral hemorrhage, cerebral aneurysm, and early cerebral tumors that may cause subarachnoid hemorrhage. You.
Blood and urine tests check for risk factors for stroke, such as diabetes, gout, and hypercholesterolemia, ultrasound tests for arteriosclerosis of carotid artery, and electrocardiograms for cardiac hypertrophy and arrhythmia.
In forgetful docks, in addition to the latest diagnostic imaging such as high-performance MRI and MRA (brain / cerebrovascular test device using magnetism), blood tests and psychological tests are also performed, and dementia specialists and certified psychologists are appropriate diagnosis and advice. I will do it.
If you are worried about cerebrovascular disease or want to know how to prevent it, please use it.
If you already have symptoms, please consult a general outpatient clinic.
※In fiscal 2022, 141 people received brain docks, and abnormalities were found in 66 people, including mild ones such as arteriosclerosis of the neck, cerebral aneurysm, and cerebral infarction without subjective symptoms.

General notes
- Those who take the standard course (Monday) will be tested in the afternoon. Lunch on the day should be light at least 3 hours before the inspection time, and please refrain from eating and drinking other than water. Do not take diabetes medicine (glucose lowering agent, insulin, etc.) during lunchtime.
If you are taking a standard course (other than Monday), you will be tested from the morning. Dinner the previous day must be completed by 8:00 p.m., and do not eat or drink anything other than water. Do not take diabetes medicine (glucose lowering agent, insulin, etc.).
In either case, take medicine other than diabetes as usual. Also, please refrain from smoking on the day. The doctor's explanation will be given on the same day of the week, four weeks after the test results are available (Thursday and Friday consultations are Thursday). - If you have a heart dock option, please come in clothes that can easily remove around your neck and are easy to take off and wear.
- Those who take the MR course will be tested in the afternoon. Lunch on the day should be light at least 3 hours before the inspection time, and please refrain from eating and drinking other than water. Please take the medicine as usual. Do not take diabetes medicine (glucose lowering agent, insulin, etc.) during lunchtime.
- If you have a forgetful dock, you will be tested in the morning. Dinner the previous day must be completed by 8:00 p.m., and after that, please refrain from eating and drinking other than water. Also, please take the medicine as usual. However, do not take medications for diabetes (glucose lowering agent, insulin, etc.). (Because you do not have breakfast, taking medicine will cause hypoglycemia and dangerous.) Also, please refrain from smoking on the day. The doctor's consultation will be conducted on the same day one week later.
These are general precautions, so if you want to take any medicine on the day of the test, consult your current doctor just in case.
Precautions for MRI examination
- MRI examinations are performed using strong magnetism, so those who are in the early stages of pregnancy (including those who are likely) and those who use artificial organs such as cardiac pacemakers and cochlear implants cannot perform MRI examinations. In addition, MRI may not be possible if metal is contained in the body due to surgery.
In such a case, please check with the doctor (hospital) who performed the operation in advance and let us know in advance. The body metals that require special attention are as follows.
[Inspection not possible]
Cardiac pacemaker, embedded defibrillator, cochlear implant, variable shunt valve
The bottom of the metal (metal in the orbit) ※Please remove it before the inspection.
[Confirmation required]
Artificial heart valves, cerebral aneurysm hemostasis clips, vascular stents, shunt devices for the treatment of hydrocephalycephaly, artificial joints, portable magnetic Attachment (removable dentures using magnets), other metals and magnetic substances - If you bring a magnetic card such as a cash card, clock, mobile phone, etc. into the laboratory, it may be broken due to strong magnetic effects and cannot be used. Please don't bring these things in. The details are as follows.
Dentures (magnetic attachment dentures, etc.), glasses / contact lenses, hearing aids, magnetic cards / wallets / mobile phones, Cairo / compress / magnetic therapy devices, rings, clocks, wigs / hairpins / headbands, clothes fittings / buttons, earrings / earrings / necklaces, belts, orthoses, talismans, etc. - Some eye shadows and tattoos contain metal components, and caution is required for MRI examinations. Remove makeup such as eye shadows before inspection, as it may cause burns.
- MRI examination requires you to sleep quietly for about 30 minutes in a tunnel-like magnet. If you are afraid of claustrophobia, please let us know in advance as the test may not be possible.
