General National Route 1 (Hodogaya Bridge Construction Zone)

General National Highway No. 1 is a major arterial road that starts in Chuo-ku, Tokyo and extends approximately 717 km to Osaka City. Of these, about 14 km from Hamamatsucho, Nishi-ku to Kumizawa-cho, Totsuka-ku is the Yokohama-shi management section.
The section from the Hodogaya Bridge intersection in Hodogaya Ward to the Kariba IC on National Route 16 (Hodogaya Bypass) is particularly concentrated in Yokohama, causing chronic traffic congestion.
