Nowadays, when accounting, clerks are often asked, "Do you use paid shopping bags?" The charge for shopping bags, which began in July 2020, began as a first step in solving environmental problems such as waste, marine plastic waste discarded in the sea, and global warming, "Let's stop using a lot of plastic." It started for that reason. Before the voice rises, Nojima has been giving eco bags to customers since October 2019 to reduce the number of shopping bags. In addition, shopping bags use eco-friendly biomass-containing plastic bags, and regular shopping bags of 3 yen (tax included) are distributed free of charge to members of Nojima.

"nojima" is a home appliance specialty store founded in 1959, and sells a lot of home appliances such as refrigerators, washing machines, and dryers used at home. When buying home appliances that are sold a lot, customers say, "Which to buy?"…"I'm confused about choosing a product. In such a case, Nojima clerk asks customers how they want to use the product and what functions they are looking for, and then recommends the best products. Nojima calls "consulting sales" a sales method that solves such customer problems. Furthermore, as a "digital first star" company that contributes not only to sales but also to local customers, we have been making various efforts to solve environmental problems long before the word "SDGs" was born.
Since 1984, we have been donating energy-saving home appliances to the areas where Nojima stores are located. This year marks the 39th anniversary, and last year in 2023, we donated approximately 210 million yen of energy-saving home appliances to 127 areas, and used them by local people in the event of a major disaster. You.
