Efforts to Protect Agriculture

Regarding the development of the entire area of Kohoku New Town, where a large amount of farmland is present, there was a problem inside Yokohama city from the beginning, and a form of coexistence between the new town and farmers was being explored.

Yokohama City established the "Kohoku New Town Agricultural Measures Guidelines" in 1968, and exchanged and exchanged land in the agricultural area set outside the business area with farmland of those who wish to continue farming in the business area. After that, we have developed an agricultural area of about 230 ha on the south side of Kohoku New Town.
