The 8th Asia Smart City Conference

The 8th Asia Smart City Conference was held from October 8 to 11, 2019.

The Asia Smart City Conference (ASCC) is an international conference that brings together representatives of Asia's leading city leaders, international organizations, academic institutions, and private companies, and aims to build an information hub for smart urban development in Asia. The conference will share a vision for urban challenges and growth presented by city leaders, proposals for innovative solutions by companies and academic institutions, measures by international organizations that financially support public-private partnerships, and various world best practices.

At the 8th ASCC, the ASCC held week is called "Asia Smart City Week" (ASCW). The Japan-ASEAN Smart City Network High-Level Meeting (ASCN) hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) and the G20 Trade and Digital Economy Ministers' Meeting held in Tsukuba, in collaboration with the Global Smart City Alliance Establishment Meeting (GSCA), which was adopted in the Ministerial Statement of the G20 Trade and Digital Economy Ministers' Meeting held in Tsukuba.
During the ASCW period, a total of approximately 850 people participated in the three meetings (ASCC, ASCN, and GSCA).

●Overview of ASCC
Schedule

From Tuesday, October 8, 2019 to Friday, 11th
The “Business Matching Stage *” was held for three days from the 8th to the 10th.
(※…Exhibitions by companies and organizations, presentations related to six urban issues. )
On the 10th, ASCC held six field-specific sessions and a panel discussion as closing.
On the 11th, an inspection tour was conducted jointly by ASCC and ASCN.
