Yokohama City and JFE Steel Corporation are collaborating on "Creating a Rich Sea through Public-Private Partnership: Demonstration of Sea Environment Improvement with Steel Slag Products and Efforts for Environmental Education".
This initiative was awarded the 2021 Civil Engineers Environment Award (II Group) sponsored by the Japan Society of Civil Engineers, and the 5th EcoPro Awards Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Award sponsored by the Sustainable Management Promotion Organization.
Taking advantage of these awards, a commemorative sign was set up near the balcony facing the Yamashita Koen-mae area where joint research was conducted so that many people could learn about the efforts and achievements of creating a rich sea in the Yamashita Koen-mae area.
