This year marks the 150th anniversary of the establishment of the city park system in accordance with No. 16 of the Government of Japan. In Yokohama, Yamate Park opened in 1870 and Yokohama Park opened in 1876, and now there are 2,715 parks. To commemorate this milestone year, we will look back on the history of parks in Yokohama and hold a symposium "Yokohama Park 150 Years and Future" to think about the future of parks, and foster momentum for the 2027 International Horticultural Expo (GREEN × EXPO 2027).
