In light of the fires at Notre Dame Cathedral and the fires at Shuri Castle Ruins last year, fire prevention measures for cultural properties were required, and Fire Bureau has been actively promoting the creation of a cooperative system for firefighting support in the event of a disaster in facilities and communities.
The religious corporation Komeiji, which has valuable important cultural properties, and the adjacent Yokohama Komeiji Shopping Street Cooperative, will conclude a mutual firefighting support agreement to strengthen daily cooperation.
This is the first time in the prefecture that a facility (temple) that owns an important cultural property (wooden Eleven-faced Kannon statue) and a region (shopping street) have signed an agreement.
