1. Eligibility

①Be proficient in English at a native language level
(Ability to create official documents in English, conversational skills and coordination skills at a level that can be discussed.)
②Be able to communicate well in Japanese
※No matter your nationality.
※If you have a certificate (Japanese, English, or other language) showing your language skills, please submit it.
※If you have experience in interpreting and translating, please include the details.
③Do not fall under the disqualification grounds stipulated in Article 16, etc. of the Local Public Service Act
※Please confirm the reason for disqualification in the application form.

2.Working conditions

Working days

4 days a week (excluding Saturday, Sunday, national holidays, New Year's holidays, and one day a week)

Working hours

30 hours / week (8:30 am to 5:00 pm) (including 60 minutes break)

Wages

284,500 yen / month (planned amount for FY2024). It is subject to change during the appointment period due to system revision, etc. )

3. Business description

①Ward Bureau cooperation support
Linguistic support such as interpreting and translating official documents, inspection and response to international conferences
②Support for inter-city cooperation projects
Coordination and consultation with foreign institutions in English, reception of guest guests, inspection response, etc.
③Information Dissemination in Foreign Languages of Yokohama Municipal Government
Creation and promotion of English content on websites and facebook
④Planning, drafting, and implementation of language training for employees of Yokohama City
Conduct business English training useful for administrative work
⑤Gathering information from foreign language media
Collection, analysis, and preparation of reports on trends in overseas cities and international related organizations related to the city's international policy
⑥Disaster Response Operations
When an earthquake with a seismic intensity of 5 or more occurs in the city area or a tsunami warning / large tsunami warning occurs, all staff members are mobilized to engage in disaster response work, Engage during working hours

5. Employment period

Selection method

After the first selection based on the application documents, an interview will be conducted as the second selection.
