Department of Clinical Engineering
Introduction of the Faculty of Clinical Engineering
Clinical Engineer (Clinical Engineer) is a medical device specialist in the management of medical devices used in hospitals and respirators, which are life support devices, in order to provide the best medical care with medical professionals such as doctors and nurses. We evaluate whether the operation of medical equipment such as is operating properly while interacting with the patient.
Department of Clinical Engineering
Director of the Faculty of Clinical Engineering (secondary hospital director (doctor) is also concurrently), one chief, two staff members (three clinical engineering technicians in total)
Business introduction
Medical Device Management
Under the Medical Device Safety Management Officer, we manage approximately 1,800 medical devices using a medical device management system.
The Faculty of Clinical Engineering has established an integrated management system from purchase to disposal of medical devices, plays a central role in medical device management in the hospital, conducts maintenance and inspection plans, conducts medical device safety management training, and manages medical device safety management information.
Respiratory therapy services
Respiratory management for patients who are performing artificial respiration management. We also provide support to patients who use a ventilator at home.
I work every week as a member of the respiratory support team (RST), which works in multiple occupations of doctors, nurses, and clinical engineering technicians.
Operating room operations
We manage medical equipment used in the operating room and operate self-blooding equipment and navigation equipment.
*A self-blooding device is used to collect bleeding blood and use it after washing in order to reduce the risk of transfusion by surgery and related infections.
*The navigation device reflects the location information of the equipment used in surgery and confirms that the direction of travel is correct before performing surgery.
Blood purification therapy
For patients who need blood purification therapy, we use a part of the ward to conduct hemodialysis and plasma exchange.
*Hemodialysis is a treatment to remove waste and moisture in the body.
*Plasma exchange is a treatment to separate plasma from the blood and exchange plasma components.
Support for the introduction of medical equipment used at home
We support the introduction of ventilators, oxygen concentrators (HOT) and CPAP devices (Continuous positive airway pressure therapy).
*An oxygen concentrator is a device that creates air with an oxygen concentration of 90% or more for patients who have respiratory failure at oxygen concentrations under atmospheric pressure.
*CPAP is a device that releases the obstruction of the upper respiratory tract by providing persistent positive pressure respiration therapy to patients with sleep apnea syndrome (SAS).
