About presentation of municipal tax, prefectural tax return
We are going to send municipal tax, prefectural tax report in 2025 on February 7.
Please cooperate with the submission by mail as much as possible to reduce congestion and prevent infectious diseases.

About attached documents declaration of medical expenses deduction
Attachment of “medical expenses Deduction Statement” is mandatory (if not attached, it cannot be applied)
The declaration of the medical expenses deduction must be accompanied by a statement of medical expenses deduction.
You cannot declare only with a receipt from medical expenses or a medical expenses notice issued by the insurance union.
→ If there is no statement of the medical expenses deduction, the medical expenses deduction cannot be applied.

※Although some entries can be omitted in the medical expenses notice issued by each insurance union, it is necessary to prepare a statement of medical expenses deduction.
※The “medical expenses Deduction Statement” is also printed in the guide for filing municipal tax and prefectural tax, so please use it separately.
※medical expenses receipts used when preparing the statement must be kept at home for 5 years.
Due to the revision of the tax system in fiscal 2017, it is mandatory to attach the “medical expenses Deduction Statement” instead of the medical expenses receipt from the 2017 declaration.
However, as a transitional measure, the final income tax return (from 2017 to 2019) and the municipal tax and prefectural tax return (from 2018 to 2020) were able to declare the medical expenses deduction by attaching or presenting the “medical expenses Receipt”.
Since transitional measures have not been applied from the 2020 declaration, a statement of the medical expenses deduction is required.
