August 27 [Serigaya district] Youth Instructor Rice Field Experience @ Maioka Park Vol.7
The last day of summer vacation for elementary school students. The elementary school students who participated worked on making decorations for Scarecrow. In the rice field work, important draining work was performed for rice harvesting.
For today's lunch, we ate soup using Maioka local vegetables in supply of hot meals (meaning a mixture of many ingredients) and red rice cooked in a kettle. August 22 for the first time in four years! Summer Festival (intergenerational exchange) Bon Dance Festival @ Konan Fureai Park
The Konan Ward Silver Club Federation hosted the Bon Dance Festival, sponsored by the Konan Ward Office and the Konan Ward Japan National Council of Social Welfare.
The summer festival, which many people, from children to seniors, were looking forward to, was enjoyed at Bon Odori, mock shops, and chats. The end ended with the two consecutive Konan Himawari Ondo, and it was a Bon Dance Festival with a constant smile until the end.

August 19 [Higiri District] Neighborhood Association's 50th Anniversary Commemorative Summer Festival (Nishiarai Residents' Association)
Under the blue sky, the summer festival of the Nishiarai Residents' Association, which celebrated its 50th anniversary, was held. It was a float that was handmade by volunteers from the residents who shared ideas and excited the summer festival. August 18 "Let's make pizza and croquette!" Experience-based event @ Local Activities Support Center "Pastel"
As part of the welfare education provided by the Konan Ward Japan National Council of Social Welfare, a workshop on making pizza and croquettes was held at Pastel, a local activity support center. A nearby elementary school student who applied in advance challenged to make pizza and croquettes with the users. The taste of the dishes I made seemed to be exceptional, and everyone ate deliciously.
In the second half of the event, everyday scenes at pastel and dance scenes of users were screened, and it was a wonderful exchange opportunity.

August 5 [Nagano district] Summer Festival, Bon Dance Festival

August 5 [Okubo Todo District] The Todo Summer Festa with Fireworks Colored
The summer festival of Saidocho Tomokai was held at Sakuragaoka Elementary School ground for the first time in four years. Students from Yokohama Municipal Minami High School were exhibiting at the "Summer Vacation SDGs Fair" held at Keikyu Department Store for three days from Friday, August 4, so I was disturbed. From Tuesday, August 2 to three days and two nights, children from Konan Ward visited Osaki City, Miyagi Prefecture.
The children enjoyed the nature-filled experience program, such as visiting the sunflower hill, first park golf, and climbing the swamp. Children of different places where they live and age. It was impressive to see them get along quickly through their life experience.
At the farewell party, Sasaki General Branch Manager of Osaki City's Sanbongi General Branch gave a powerful word saying, "I want to continue this exchange forever."
There are opportunities to interact with Osaki City in the city, such as opening a store at Konan Children's Dream World (held on November 4). I hope you will feel the history of the exchange and the charm of Osaki City.
