Notification of participation
At the age of 75, you will automatically join the medical system for elder senior citizens. There is no procedure required to join. A certificate of eligibility will be sent from the Regional Coalition at the end of the month before the 75th birthday month. In addition, those who are receiving welfare are not insured.
If you have a family member who is transferred from the company's employee health insurance to the medical system for elder senior citizens.
If your family is a dependent of the company's employee health insurance or health insurance union, your family will withdraw from the medical insurance if you move to the medical system for elder senior citizens.
In this case, your family will take out other medical insurance such as the National Health Insurance of Yokohama City. You need to apply for National Health Insurance at your ward office, Insurance and Pension Division National Health Insurance Section.
What is necessary for the procedure (don't forget to report in such a case)
Participation of persons aged 65 and over with certain disabilities
If you are 65 years of age or older and have a certain disability, you can apply for the Regional Coalition and if you are recognized as having a disability, you can join the medical system for elder senior citizens from your current medical insurance. . "Certification" refers to the certification of the Wide Area Union and is different from the certification for receiving grants such as a certificate of the physically disabled.
If you join the medical system for elder senior citizens, the window burden at medical institutions may change. Premiums are different from the current medical insurance premiums.

For those who fall under any of the following 1 to 4, there is a subsidy program for severely disabled people in medical expenses. It is necessary to notify the ward office of your ward, Insurance and Pension Division National Health Insurance Section, and the amount equivalent to the partial contribution will be subsidized.
- Those who have been issued a certificate of the physically disabled for grades 1 and 2
- Those whose intelligence index is determined to be 35 or less
- Those who have been issued a 3rd grade certificate of the physically disabled and whose intelligence index is judged to be 50 or less
- Those who have been issued the 1st grade Mental Handicapped Handbook (only for outpatient visits)
