Review of target list of Sakae Library in 2023

In fiscal 2023, Sakae Library focused particularly on the following goals. We devise this goal based on "Yokohama-shi medium-term plan", "Yokohama-shi education promotion basic plan", "reading activity promotion target" of each ward. (June 2024) Annual retrospective was announced.

Sharing a new library image that contributes to the creation of attractiveness of the town

Perspective of Initiatives: Presentation of “City Library’s Vision” and “Direction of Initiatives” that contribute to the creation of attractive towns

Efforts

Information gathering and sharing (all year) for improving elementary school student services

Annual Review

  1. In addition to understanding the needs of the child-rearing generation through exchanges with Nikorinku (child-rearing support base in the Sakae Ward area) and Oyako Hiroba (OYAKO CLUB Tulip), we also provided information on events and other events at the child-raising information corner. (Full year)
  2. We held a special exhibition "What is Nikorinku?" in collaboration with child care support bases in the Sakae Ward area. (August)

  1. Reading-related events (vibrio battle in SAKAE) and reading activity promotion lecture (from December to February)
  2. Special exhibitions (exhibition of materials based on themes with high needs of residents and exhibitions linked to events, etc.) (all year)

Annual Review

  1. Reading-related events included Vibrio Battle in SAKAE (December 2) and Sakae Ward Reading Activity Promotion Lecture (March 3).
  2. A total of 16 times were held on the theme of the Great Kanto Earthquake, Shokuiku Month, POP display of books, end of life, awareness of infection prevention, etc. as a special exhibition linked to exhibitions of materials and events on themes with high needs of residents of the city. . We participated in e-book and online data service training and shared the results within the museum. The training materials have been saved so that they can be referenced when responding to references and creating records. (Full year)

Establishing children's reading habits

Perspective of Initiatives: Promotion of reading activities according to the stage of child development

Efforts

  1. Resuming talks at a 4-month-old child health checkup conducted by Sakae Ward Health and Welfare Center (October)
  2. Enhancement of parent-child talks, etc. (all year)
  3. At the Teens Corner, 80 new books will be purchased to improve the attractiveness of the corner (all year) in order to update and reinforce the entire collection.
  4. In order to encourage the teens generation to become interested in reading, conduct exhibitions that contribute to improving the teens generation's willingness to read (all year).

Annual Review

  1. We have resumed talks at a 4-month-old child medical checkup. (February)
  2. We have enhanced our talk and parent-child talk sessions. (Full year)
  3. At the Teens Corner, 113 new books were purchased and worked to improve the appeal of the corner. (Full year)
  4. For the teens generation, a special exhibition "Yokohamano Teens" (from July to August) and a total of 11 other exhibitions were held to encourage the teens generation to become interested in reading.

  2. In addition to accepting purchases and donations, remove dirt, damage, or reduced use, and replace more than 6,000 book materials to maintain quality (all year)

  1. Utilization of the Sakae Ward Reading Activity Promotion Liaison Conference
  2. As a reading activity promotion project in cooperation with the ward office, we will raise awareness of inhabitants of the ward for district centers, community houses, etc., and enhance collections by reusing books donated by inhabitants of the ward.

Since the Sakae Ward Reading Activity Promotion Liaison Conference was held in writing, we could not discuss with the committee members about local needs for book materials. (September)
