About heat stroke Special Warning Alert

　The Ministry of the Environment launched the heat stroke Special Warning Alert on April 24, 2024. The heat stroke Special Warning Alert is issued by the Minister of the Environment when the temperature is particularly high and there is a risk of serious health damage caused by the heat stroke. It is announced when the predicted value of the heat index reaches 35 at all five locations in Kanagawa Prefecture (Ebina, Yokohama, Tsujido, Odawara and Miura).
　There is a risk of serious health damage in areas where the heat stroke Special Warning Alert is issued. Actively carry out voluntary heat stroke prevention activities. In addition, please watch over and call out to family and the people around you.
　In Yokohama City, based on notifications from the national government and Kanagawa Prefecture, we will provide information using press releases and e-mails for Yokohama City disaster prevention information, and provide information on our website.

　Cool share spots are facilities that have cooling equipment and utilize existing facilities such as chairs and benches, so that citizens and other people can temporarily overcome the heat when going out. The initiative period is from June 1 to September 30, Reiwa 6. Please take advantage of cool share spots near you as a countermeasure against heat stroke.

　In order to prevent heat stroke, self support is essential, such as health management, appropriate indoor temperature adjustment, and refraining from going out under extremely high temperatures. However, if you have to go out, it is important to reduce the risk of heat stroke. Therefore, in Yokohama City, since the summer of 2023, citizens have been publishing on a web page as a cool share spot that can be used as a place for citizens to temporarily overcome the heat when going out. In fiscal 2024, we will recruit businesses that can cooperate as cool share spots in order to create an environment that is easy for citizens to use when going out and to strengthen measures against heat stroke.

Businesses who can cooperate with Cool Share Spots should apply for participation from the electronic application system registration form (outside site).
