Efforts to locally grown and consumed for renewable energy by utilizing surplus solar power at home
Last updated on February 4, 2025.
Purpose
Yokohama City is expanding the use of renewable energy in order to achieve decarbonization by 2050. As one of these initiatives, since fiscal 2024, we have concluded a partnership agreement with ENEOS Power Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as ENEOS Power) to support locally grown and consumed's switching of renewable energy to renewable energy electricity.
Please refer to this page for a press release on this initiative.
City home solar off-site PPA plan (power supply company: ENEOS Power Co., Ltd.)
Overview
As part of this partnership agreement, ENEOS Power will use FIT solar surplus electricity from households in Yokohama to supply electricity to consumers in Yokohama using off-site PPA to locally grown and consumed renewable energy sources. The shortfall can be supplied with 100% renewable energy by other power sources within the Group.

In support of the locally grown and consumed's purpose of renewable energy, we started using renewable energy in November 2024. Through this initiative, approximately 20% of the electricity used can be financed by solar power generation generated by households in Yokohama City, and approximately 440 tons per year. ※It is expected that CO2 emissions will be reduced.
※The annual reduction amount is calculated based on the actual demand in FY2023 based on the menu-specific coefficient (0.000459t-CO2/kWh) of ENE Corporation S Power's FY2022 results.
Interview with Efforts
