About Yamada Ukyonoshin Castle Ruins Monument
The monument to the site of Yamada Ukyonoshin Castle is located at Kuboyama Old Castle Temple in Miho Town. It is said that this land used to be the residence of Ukyonoshin Yamada a long time ago.
During the Muromachi period, the castle built by Noriyoshi Uesugi using the natural hills was said to be Enoki Shimojo. The castle owner of Enoki Shimojo was unknown since Norinao, a child of Kensei and then castle owner at the time, lost to the rebellion of Eikyo and decided himself at Kanazawa Shomeiji Temple, but it is believed that he served as a small desk during the time of Hojo Odawara.
Later, in Keicho 19 (1614), the old castle temple was founded by the will of the head of Kubo Village.
This place is a valuable historical heritage that preserves the remains of the castle of the Middle Ages, one of the few in the city, and the forest is designated as a prefecture-designated natural monument.
The Yamada Ukyonoshin Castle Ruins Monument was presented as a commemoration of the election of the 45 honorable prefectural scenic spots held by Yokohama Trading Shinposha (currently Kanagawa Shimbun-sha) in the early Showa era (1935). .
