Naka Ward Barrier-Free Basic Concept
Under the “Law Concerning the Promotion of Smooth Movement of Elderly and Disabled Persons (Barrier-Free Law)”, municipalities are based on the basic policy set by the government, including districts centered on passenger facilities, the elderly, and persons with disabilities. About district where facilities used by people gathered, it is supposed to try to make basic design (barrier-free basic design) about important and integrated promotion of business to affect movement smoothness.
In Yokohama City, the creation of the basic design was completed in each ward 1 district at the end of 2016, and as a second round, including a review (spiral up) of the completed district, multiple stations in the ward for each ward We examine around and make as one basic concept.
In August 2004, Naka Ward established the “Basic Concept for Traffic Barrier-Free Areas around Kannai Station” to promote barrier-free areas around stations.
In addition to reviewing the area around Kannai Station, the Naka Ward Barrier-Free Basic Plan was developed to expand the area of priority areas to Sakuragicho Station, Bashamichi Station, Nihon-odori Station and Isezaki-Chojamachi Station.
