I attended the graduation ceremony of Tokyo Yokohama Germany Gakuen.

　I attended the graduation ceremony of Tokyo Yokohama Germany Gakuen on June 2, 2023 (Friday).
　Tokyo Yokohama Germany Gakuen is one of the foreign German schools approved by the Federal Republic of Germany and is the oldest overseas German schools in East Asia. Students are enrolled in about 20 countries, including Germany and Japan, Switzerland and Austria, and are studying in an international environment.
　In Tsuzuki Ward  , we conduct cultural and international exchanges with residents in various ways, including the Oktoberfest and the German Christmas Market in Tsuzuki.
　This year, we celebrated the start of 29 graduates.
　The ceremony was very exciting, with congratulatory messages from school officials and ambassadors from each country, as well as band performances by graduates. I spoke at the beginning of my congratulatory speech in an unfamiliar German language and received warm applause.
　I am very pleased as Director General if what I have learned and experienced in the land of Tsuzuki in Yokohama will serve as an opportunity for us to think about a peaceful world that recognizes diversity.
