We had a talk with Ambassador Omori of the Embassy of Japan in Botswana about the exchange project between Tsuzuki Ward   and the Republic of Botswana!

　On June 27, Setsuo Omori, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Botswana, visited the Tsuzuki Ward   Office.
　The Embassy of Japan in Botswana has fully supported the "Tsuzuki Botswana Exchange Children's Painting Exhibition" from the first time to the present day, providing a bridge between Chigasaki Elementary School in Tsuzuki Ward   and Ben Tema Elementary School in the Republic of Botswana.
　Ambassador Omori gave a very interesting story about the recent economic situation of the Republic of Botswana, the state of the town, the state of school children and food culture.
　From the Tsuzuki Ward   side, Principal Takahashi (Chigasaki Elementary School), who was present, invited Ambassador Morake of Botswana to talk about the children of the international understanding class held on June 22, and Mr. Hayashida, Director of the MY Plaza, explained the history of the 10-year exchange program.
　This year marks the 10th anniversary of the exhibition of children's paintings. We also confirmed that this milestone will be boosted by cooperation between the city of Yokohama and Tsuzuki Ward   and the Republic of Botswana to connect it to the next generation.
　I will meet with Ambassador Omori again during an online exchange (scheduled for October) between schools in both countries (although it will be through the screen). I look forward to the various exchanges between Botswana and Tsuzuki in the future.
