In 1947, the Fire Service Organization Law was enacted in fire brigade, and the Yokohama City fire brigade Ordinance was promulgated. On March 7, 1948, the Fire Service Organization Law was enacted, and the fire brigade moved to Yokohama City along withfire brigade Kohoku.fire brigade was born.
Subsequently, in October 1969,Kohoku Ward and Midori Ward were reorganized, and in November 1994, the current Kohoku fire brigadeMidori Ward was established.
In addition to disaster response, Kohoku fire brigade conducts various activities such as disaster response drills, lifesaving training such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and patrol patrols at local festivals to protect the safety and security of Kohoku Ward.
The activities of Kohoku fire brigade are introduced below, so please take a look!

Venue: Shin-Yokohama Station and surrounding areas
Contents: evacuation guidance and other organizations participated in training organized by the ward office to prevent confusion around Shin-Yokohama Station in the event of an earthquake, and to strengthen cooperation among businesses around Shin-Yokohama Station, railway operators, self-government associations, and related administrative organizations.

Venue: Kohoku Ward Office Meeting Room
Contents: We conducted advanced lifesaving training to improve fire brigade's knowledge and skills related to lifesaving.

Venue: Shin-Yokohama Park (Nissan Stadium) No. 1 Parking Lot
Contents: At the first ceremony of the Kohoku Ward Fire Department in 2025, we performed vehicle marches, simultaneous water discharge and general training.

Venue: Each branch headquarters
Contents: The purpose of this program was to raise the morale of fire brigade members by encouraging Director General, the leader of the fire brigade Fire Department, to express their gratitude for their daily hard work.
≪What is the New Year's Holiday Fire Special Warning?≫
Every year, during the year-end and New Year holidays (from December 20 to January 4 of the following year), when fires and emergency services are on the rise, the fire brigade and the fire department cooperate to take measures to prevent fires.

Venue: Kishinekoen Gourd Field
Contents: We conducted take-off and landing training with the fire brigade and aviation fire brigade guided by the fire brigade to strengthen cooperation and prepare for accurate and smooth activities in the event of a large-scale disaster.

Venue: Kohoku Ward Disaster Prevention Plaza and Niwa Minamicho Kaikan
Contents: Training was conducted for each branch training instructor with the aim of providing unified training guidance to members. .

Venue: Yokohama-shi Fire Academy
Contents: Training sessions were held to further strengthen the unity and morale of firefighters and fire brigade staff.

Venue: Kohoku Ward Disaster Prevention Plaza and Niwa Minamicho Kaikan
Contents: Training was conducted with the aim of acquiring traffic regulations and fire pump operation, and fostering human resources who can operate fire engines quickly and appropriately.

Venue: Kohoku Ward Office Meeting Room
Contents: Training was conducted for newly joined fire brigade members to acquire basic knowledge necessary for fire brigade members.

Venue: Kohoku fire deparment Conference Room
Contents: A resignation was issued to new members.

Venue: Kikuna Pond Park Pool (1-8-1 Kikuna, Kohoku-ku)
Contents: Water surface rescue activities, clothing swimming training, and rowing training were carried out.

Venue: Transportation Bureau Niwa Depot (1-12-1 Kitashin Yokohama, Kohoku-ku)
Contents: Basic fire extinguishing training, training on handling of various equipment and materials, training ceremony by the fourth branch, application water transmission training, and simultaneous water discharge training were conducted.

Venue: Nissan Stadium (3300 Kozuki-cho, Kohoku-ku)
Contents: We conducted response training based on the assumption of the fire incident, confirmed initial response and the guidelines for activities, and conducted training to strengthen cooperation with related organizations.

Venue: Each district in Kohoku Ward
Contents: From the 1st branch of the Kohoku fire brigade to the 7th branch, training was conducted based on the content and assumptions.

Contents: We conducted advanced lifesaving training to improve fire brigade's knowledge and skills related to lifesaving.

Contents: Training was conducted for newly joined fire brigade members to acquire basic knowledge necessary for fire brigade members.

Contents: In order to facilitate the efficient and smooth implementation of fire brigade activities, we conducted training for executive members, such as preparing for executive members.

Contents: We issued resignations to fire brigade executives and new members.

1. Conditions for joining
（１） A person who has a "Resident Card" or "Special Permanent Resident Certificate"
（２） Those who have stayed at least two years and are willing to continue their activities in fire brigade for at least three years.
（３） A person who can accept that he / she cannot take a position of a group leader or higher
（４） A person who can obtain consent from the branch to which he/she will belong.
（５） A person who can accept that an activity that exercises public power * cannot be performed
（６） Those who can communicate in Japanese

In September 2015, when I became a member of the Kohoku fire brigade, I started an initiative to receive drinks and discount services at the Kohoku fire brigade Cooperation Store. fire brigade will give you a fire brigade card with the motif of the blue happi coat of Kohoku fire brigade. A blue happi coat sticker will be distributed to cooperating stores to mark the store.
The number of cooperating stores is 133, a member of the Kohoku Ward Shopping Street Federation (currently being updated).
