In order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2030 and realize a decarbonized society by 2050, next-generation solar cells such as perovskite solar cells and integrated building materials are expected to be introduced.
In urban areas such as Yokohama City, where suitable locations for photovoltaic power generation are limited, in order to further expand the spread of renewable energy, we solicited proposals for next-generation solar cell demonstration experiments utilizing public facilities, and selected three companies and four proposals.
As the third demonstration experiment, the Perovskite Solar Cell Demonstration Experiment will begin in Hokubu No.2 Wastewater Treatment Plant on Monday, January 20, 2025. In this demonstration, assuming installation on the wall of the building, the power generation will be evaluated and verified by a test body with perovskite solar cells placed on the back of the window glass.
