This year, Kanto Gakuin University, McDonald's Japan Co., Ltd. and Yokohama City will collaborate to hold a tray mat design contest. Students from Kanto Gakuin University learned about biodiversity and procurement of sustainable ingredients and materials in McDonald's in class, and designed tray mats to be laid on trays used at McDonald's stores. We will conduct an online voting that anyone can participate in for the design. The work selected for the highest award will be developed as an actual tray mat at all McDonald's stores in Yokohama.
In order to encourage citizens to deepen their understanding of biodiversity, we will invite many people to participate in voting and exhibit at Yokohama City Hall so that students can see their works. In addition, one of them will be awarded the City of Yokohama, Environmental Planning Bureau Prize.
