The work is on display! Art workshop "Hikari no Fruit in Himawari Festa"
Since 2023, Konan Ward has been promoting cultural programs to interact with artists. This time, we will invite artist Masata Takahashi to work on creating the work of "Hikari no Minoru". "Hikari no Fruit" is an illumination work created by everyone, thought by Masata Takahashi. The small lights of each person gather and become a big light, creating a warm night scenery.
"Hikari no Fruit" is on display at Konan Public Association Domae Square.
We display 500 pieces produced by elementary and junior high schools in the city in advance and 100 "Hikari no Fruits" produced at the workshop at Konan Public Association Domae Square.

On Saturday, November 2, 2024, we held art workshop "Hikari no Minoru in Himawari Festa" in ward office the first floor inhabitant of a ward hall. Unfortunately, it was raining, but many people came and we were able to make more than 100 "Hikari no Fruits". Thank you very much to the children and their families who cooperated in making the work.
The work will be exhibited on the trees of Konan Public Association Domae Square until the end of November!

Tadashi Takahashi (Kyota Takahashi)
Born in Kyoto in 1970. A wide range of works based on light and video. In addition to large-scale works that were illuminated on buildings such as the Kyoto City Kyocera Museum of Art, Tokyo Station 100th Anniversary Light Up, Towada Art Center, there are many large-scale participatory art projects made with citizens. The work "Hikari no Minoru" presented at Zounohana Terrace's representative art project "Smart Illumination Yokohama" was a project in which more than 100,000 people participated in 10 years. Past activities are also published in school textbooks.
