Last updated on April 3, 2024.

This page is a document describing the results of a survey of dioxin concentrations in soil conducted in FY2008 (Heisei 20).

Overview of the Survey

Yokohama City has been investigating dioxins in the soil since 1998, but in 2008, the entire city was divided into 10 districts, one point was selected from each district, and a survey was conducted. We will inform you that the survey results have been compiled.

Survey points and methods

The survey points were selected for parks with bare land with a certain area suitable for sampling, and were collected and analyzed in accordance with the "Soil Survey and Measurement Manual for Dioxins (Ministry of the Environment: March 2008)". .

Date of Survey

From August 1, 2008 to August 4, 2008

Results of the survey

  1. The concentration of dioxins in the soil at 10 locations in the city was within the range of 0.0060 pg-TEQ / g from a minimum of 0.5 pg-TEQ / g, and the average was 1.2 pg-TEQ / g. The results of this survey conformed to the soil environmental standard of 1,000 pg-TEQ / g at all points.
