Features | An evergreen shrub planted for ornamental use in the warm mountains of Honshu, Shikoku and Kyushu. There are many branches and the height is 1.5 to 2 meters. Flowers bloom from early spring to late spring. Leaves are toxic and are roasted and used as an insecticide. It is also called a horse-riding tree because it suffers when a horse eats.
