What is the flower "Sakura" of the city?
Minami Ward is a city surrounded by the large Okagawa River flowing through the center of the ward and seven varied hills. In particular, the row of cherry blossom trees at the Ookagawa Promenade is also a venue for the Minami Sakura Festival, and is popular with many people.
In January 2001, we established Sakura, a flower of Minami Ward.
In March 2004, to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Minami Ward system, the Minami Ward mascot character Minachi was born with the motif of cherry blossom petals. The flower "Sakura" of the ward and the mascot character "Minichi" were decided by the opinions and ideas of the inhabitants of the ward.
Cherry blossoms, such as "Ookagawa Promenade Cherry Blossom Trees", "Sakura in the ward" and "Mascot Character Minachi" are great for Minami Ward.
What is a popular flower?
When we established flower "Sakura" of ward in January, 2001, primrose and cosmos (Akisakura) will spread so that each household can grow "Sakura" closer. Was.
Also, in fiscal 2013, the 70th anniversary of the constituency system, creeping phlox was added to the Executive Committee of the 70th anniversary.
We call these three kinds of flowers "fukyuka" and work on spread enlightenment in the same way as flower "Sakura" of ward.
