Hen history / origin
A town newly established from each part of Ondacho and Nariai-cho with the enforcement of the land readjustment project in 1967. In the old days, it was a part of Tana Village and Nakazato Village, Tsuzuki-gun. When transferred to Yokohama City in 1939, it became Ondacho and Nariaicho. Transferred from Midori Ward following the reorganization of administrative districts in 1994. The name of the town was "Sakuradai", which chose cherry blossoms as "the auspicious trees with beautiful flowers and have been loved by people since ancient times."
