- Cargo seal
- A generic term for information on the contents of the cargo displayed in the package or container, such as the cargo owner, the recipient, the destination, and the handling method and other descriptions. It's also called a cart mark.
- Bills of bills
- Payment instructions (foreign bills) from the exporter to the importer with bills of lading or insurance. The exporter will give it to the bank to purchase the receivables from the importer and collect the proceeds. This method is usually used to settle the trade price.
- Unloading (sifting, rehandling)
- This means changing the loading position of cargo already loaded on the vessel to another position or temporarily unloading to land and reloading it to its original position due to changes in the landing area, problems in the safe operation of the vessel, requiring special loading restrictions such as reefer containers or dangerous goods, or for other reasons related to the loading space.
- Double fare system
- A system in which a contract fare is applied to contract shippers (consigners who have contracted to place cargo only on allies) is lower than the fare imposed on non-contracted shippers by the fare alliance. In the direction of intensifying competition and deregulation, the North American route was abolished in 1986, and the European and Mediterranean alliances were abolished at the end of 2003.
- Packing style (Nishigata: packing style)
- Refers to the form of external packaging applied to cargo.
- Packing Business
- A type of port transportation-related business. At Yokohama Port, all of the 74 (as of January 2005) registered companies also work on reloading, and this type of business is often referred to as "packing and reloading". The business content refers to the work in the coastal cargo handling of rose cargo from the dropper in a bag, weighs it, and sew it inside the bag. - Shipper
- A person who has legal ownership of the goods subject to distribution.
- Japan Port Transport Association (Nikkokyo)
- A central organization of port transport companies nationwide and is licensed by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (1795 members as of July 2004) that operates port transport and quarantine businesses. Consultation on port transportation fees and labor measures, operation of container terminals, international integrated transport issues, etc., compiling and implementing policies.
- Japan Federation of Freight Industries
- A cross-sectional nationwide organization of interlogistic companies such as trucks, warehouses, transportation, and shipping. An incorporated association (approved by the Ministry of Transport) that considers issues related to logistics in general, such as labor shortages, environmental problems, and fares.

- In addition to companies in various industries such as manufacturers, distribution, logistics, and information industries, a logistics specialist organization (corporate association) with academic experts. - Futaki-kai
- Monthly round-table conference between the industry and the port director of Yokohama Port, such as shipping, port luck, warehouse, etc. Initially, it was held on the second Thursday of each month, so it became this name. (Jurisdiction: Bureau, General Affairs Division)
- Niyaku
- This refers to the work of loading and unloading of cargo.
- Neutral Body (N/B: Neutral Body)
- Refers to a self-monitoring body (neutral inspection body) established to crack down on misconduct of alliance members.
