Based on the GIGA School Initiative in Yokohama, which was formulated based on the government's realization of the GIGA School Initiative, ICT terminals have been developed for each elementary school student student at elementary and junior high schools, compulsory education schools, and special needs schools (elementary and junior high schools). This time, we interviewed elementary and junior high schools how they are actually being used in classes.

※GIGA School Concept
The plan was proposed by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) to create a single terminal for elementary school student students and a high-speed, high-capacity communication network to achieve fairly and individually optimized learning at schools nationwide without leaving any diverse children. In September 2020, Yokohama City formulated the GIGA School Initiative in Yokohama City.
Konandai Daini Elementary School
First, I visited Konandai Daini Elementary School (Konan Ward).
In the class I visited, I made predictions before the experiment in the "science" class. In conventional classes, elementary school student, who raised his hands, announced his expectations, but with the introduction of the terminal, what elementary school student had expected was displayed on the previous monitor and on the elementary school student terminal, and the teacher picked up various ways of thinking.

In addition, when we talked to elementary school student, some commented that they could learn visually and happily, and that it could be used for checking forms such as how to run in physical education classes in addition to classroom classes.
During the class, ICT support staff members looked around and provided detailed explanations and advice on how to operate the terminal in response to calls from elementary school student.
"Utilization of ICT" seems to be an area where people tend to get out of good and bad, but if you can take classes with such a system, you can go to the class with confidence.
In addition, I visited another class where I had a class on social studies, and when I talked to my teacher, I saw that elementary school student was interested in everything in the park with a camera on my device during extracurricular classes (not only flowers and trees, but also disaster prevention warehouses, etc.). Indeed, there is a possibility of learning as many as elementary school student.
Kamoshida Junior High School
Next, I visited Kamoshida Junior High School (Aoba Ward).
In the class I visited, I was studying history in a class on social studies. What impressed me was that I was investigating while comparing terminals, textbooks, and material collections with each other.
After the class, I talked to the students and the teacher and said, `` Various information is posted on the Internet, touching various ideas and having a multifaceted perspective, but it is difficult to select information Because of the difficulty, it also leads to learning to select the correct information. "" Paper also has good paper, so it is important to use it properly instead of relying on ICT terminals for everything. "
There was also a story that "On the Internet, the layout is easy to understand, and you can naturally learn how to organize information and communicate it to people."
In addition, the students who completed the assignment first used a terminal to work on small tests on the cloud, which also helped make effective use of the gap time.
It was impressive that elementary school student students and teachers said, "What kind of lessons can I take in the future?" "What kind of learning can I develop?"
With the aim of providing guidance tailored to the characteristics of each elementary school student student and learning tailored to individual interests and interests, I felt infinite possibilities for learning using ICT terminals, which will be in full swing from now on.
