November issue Supports the employment of persons with disabilities
In Yokohama City, we lend buildings owned by the city to operating companies as "working awareness facilities for persons with disabilities" that create places for employment of persons with disabilities and conduct educational activities to promote understanding of citizens and companies in employment. Customer service remotely? New work style "Orihime"
At this shop, from 14:00 to 18:00 on weekdays, nine incurable disease and staff with disabilities called "pilots" use the alter ego robot "OriHime (*)" to take orders from remote locations and have conversations. OriHime, where you talk not only with voice but also with face-to-face or gestures, makes you feel as if the person is talking on the spot.

OriHime, who welcomed me
By utilizing OriHime, various incurable disease and people with disabilities can work at home away from the store. As a result, the possibilities of working styles are expanding, such as being able to work in a position that remains lying down, and having a job called customer service, which was difficult depending on the disability.
When I talked to those who actually work as pilots, "I used to connect with my family and hospital people until now, but the world has expanded since I started this work" and "I don't only take orders, I can enjoy conversations through OriHime" and "I can work at my own pace and have various encounters" were impressive.
Looking at each other, it looks as if you are talking face-to-face with an actual person.
Pilots manipulate OriHime with simple operation from the terminal.
At the shop, you can also enjoy art exhibitions created by people with disabilities and get event information. You can also purchase sweets such as cookies and chocolates made at the disabled workshop.
