I visited the Japanese language learning support "dandelion Project"

Last updated on November 28, 2024.

In today's “Research on People and Towns in Director General” (outside site), we visited the dandelion Project, which supports Japanese language learning for children connected to foreign countries.

The visit was held on the day of the dandelion Lounge, which provides support for elementary and junior high school students. Prior to the start, volunteers gathered to discuss the support content according to the learning progress and situation of each child. .
Among the children connected to foreign countries, it is difficult to read and write even though they can speak Japanese everyday, and many children have difficulty learning. Also, depending on age and timing of transfer to school, the Japanese language challenges faced by children vary. At the dandelion Lounge, I teach Japanese through my study and homework help.

The Kanagawa Ward Multicultural Lounge (outside site) opened in March this year. It is close to the station and is also equipped with books and Wi-Fi. I would like everyone to visit as a base to learn about various cultures and connect them.
