Abandonment and abuse of pets (animals) are punishable.

Animal abandonment and abuse of animals is prohibited by the Act on the Protection and Management of Animals (Drive Love Act).
Please contact Environmental Sanitation Section Health Sanitation Division, Kohoku Health and Welfare Center if you have any information about abuse due to improper breeding management, such as unnatural injury or insufficient feeding or water.
Also, if animal abandonment or abuse is a crime, please report to the nearest police department.
