About registration of domestic dog
According to the Rabies Prevention Act, dogs older than 91 days are required to be registered. Registration is valid for a lifetime of one dog. Be sure to attach the dog's license tag to your collar, etc. when you register.

From September 2024, you can register your dog using the Yokohama City Electronic Application and Notification System.

If you start keeping a dog older than 91 days, please register your dog within 30 days (90 days to 30 days after birth) at Environmental Sanitation Section Health Sanitation Division, Kohoku Health and Welfare Center (39th floor on the 3rd floor of the ward office). When registering, please bring your owner's information (name, Address, Phone number) and dog information (type, date of birth, hair color, gender, name).
If you are wearing a microchip after June 2022, you may need to confirm your registration, so please bring a 15-digit microchip number.
Registration fee
3,000 yen
At a veterinary clinic commissioned by Yokohama City, you can register your dog and carry out procedures for rabies vaccination at the same time.
