In Yokohama City, in order to raise the understanding of agricultural products produced in the city and interest in school lunches, the “Hamana-chan Cooking Competition” has been held since 2003 to recruit original recipes for school lunches using vegetables produced in the city for elementary school students. Every year, many children have applied for thoughtful and unique recipes, and last year about 2,350 works were collected. Six of the submitted works will be selected as winning works, and a menu that arranges the winning works will be offered at the restaurant "TSUBAKI Shokudo" in Laxis Front on the second floor of the Yokohama City Hall.
In fiscal 2024, as a special project commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Nishi Ward system, the 30th anniversary of the Aoba system, and the 30th anniversary of the Tsuzuki system, the Director General Awards, which are reviewed and determined by each ward residents.
