In the Yokohama Port Survey of the National Port Survey conducted by the Ministry of the Environment every year, experts identified species of ants found at Honmoku Wharf on Monday, July 22, 2024, as a result of identification of species by experts, It was confirmed as a fire ant, an alien organism.
Insecticide bait (bait) is installed around the confirmation site.
Yokohama City will continue to cooperate with the survey and control conducted by the Ministry of the Environment.
The place where the ant is confirmed is in the container yard and is an area that cannot be accessed by the general public. In addition, there are no reports of human damage regarding this matter.
