26.The 3rd New Year Izumi Sagami Kite Flying Party

Last updated on January 15, 2024.

Under the clear blue sky of the New Year, the "3rd New Year Izumi Sagami Kite Flying Party" was held. On the day of the event, performances and lion dances by Okazu Taiko and Okazu Hayashiren were performed, and a large kite depicting "dreams" that I chose this year, and a large kite produced by a sixth grader at Seya Sakura Elementary School in a hands-on class were raised.
This kite flying party is hosted by the Sagami Kite Izumi Preservation Society, but I was very pleased to hear from Seya Sakura Elementary School elementary school student's announcement that "I wanted to continue connecting tradition and work on it." I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the members of the Preservation Society who have been working hard to spread the traditional culture of Izumi Ward in various situations.
Just as the kite of the day flew high in the sky, I sincerely hope that it will be such a year in which the dreams of the inhabitants of the ward will expand greatly.
